How To Reduce Redness/Calm Skin

Red and irritated skin in need of calming.

If your skin is consistently red and irritated from rosacea, it's probably a dream of yours to wake up each morning with a calm, comfortable complexion.

Making daily use of suitable sunscreens and avoiding triggers which cause flushing are two of the most effective means by which to reduce the redness of rosacea and calm your skin.

Overnight skin care can also work to reduce redness, flushing and relieve irritation, discomfort and redness while you sleep.

Anti-Inflammatories and Antioxidants

Topical skin treatments that combine high levels of anti-inflammatories and antioxidants can quickly calm skin and diminish redness.

Cooling agents have a gentle and relieving effect on delicate skin.

Products containing ubiquinone, tocopherol, grape seed, green tea and resveratrol can be helpful in reducing inflammation and damage from breakouts.

They also help prevent dark marks (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) which form on the skin after periods of irritation, particularly where papules or pustules have formed.

Suggested Evening Protocol

Cleanse skin with Rosacea Anti-Inflammatory Foaming Cleanser by applying to dry skin and then rinsing with tepid water. Pat skin dry and wait five minutes. Gently massage a few drops of Rosacea Anti-Inflammatory Clearing Serum into the face and neck, until completely absorbed. Follow with Rosacea Cooling Lotion.

You can use this combination of products overnight any time your skin is especially irritated or uncomfortable, or preemptively when you know you'll be exposed to harsh sun, dry climates or cold weather.

Ingredients Fostering Redness and Irritation

If possible, avoid preservatives such as parabens and other known irritants, allergens as skin sensitizers such as essential oils and the majority of fragrances.
